Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Create and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable front-end solutions utilizing contemporary React methodologies.

• Work in partnership with Product, UX, and Backend teams to identify and implement user-focused features, which include API contracts and handling edge cases.

• Construct reusable UI components and contribute to a cohesive design system that encompasses component libraries, styling guidelines, and documentation.

• Uphold code quality through clear pull request submissions, code reviews, automated testing, and developer-friendly documentation.

• Enhance applications for speed and reliability by focusing on Core Web Vitals, bundle size, rendering performance, and responsive design across devices.

• Deliver accessible experiences by employing WCAG-aligned practices in component design, interaction patterns, and QA workflows.

• Engage in architecture discussions and assist in establishing front-end development standards concerning state management, data fetching, routing, and error handling.

• Oversee build pipelines, which include Vite configuration, dependency updates, and CI/CD troubleshooting.

• Guide and mentor fellow engineers through pair programming, technical advice, and sharing practical patterns.

• Report directly to the Engineering Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 10 years of front-end development experience in building production web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (specifically React).

• Strong expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, along with responsive design principles.

• Experience with state management and scalable front-end architecture patterns (e.g., Redux / Redux Toolkit).

• Practical experience in integrating RESTful APIs and working closely with backend teams.

• Solid understanding of testing and quality assurance practices, including Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, Enzyme, and end-to-end testing utilizing Playwright or Cypress.

• Familiarity with source control and CI/CD workflows, including GitHub/GitLab, automated builds, linting, testing pipelines, and release processes.

• Hands-on experience in diagnosing and enhancing performance, including browser debugging, profiling tools, and monitoring production issues.

• Bonus: Experience in building and deploying Web SDKs.

• Bonus: Knowledge of Decentralized Identity (DCI) and Identity & Access Management (IAM) concepts such as OAuth/OIDC.

• Bonus: Familiarity with Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka, and Redis.

• Bonus: Understanding of WCAG and internationalization tools and workflows.

• Bonus: Experience with New Relic, LaunchDarkly, Sentry, Datadog RUM, or OpenTelemetry.

• Bonus: Proficiency in React 18+, Next.js/Remix, Vite, code-splitting, SSR/ISR.
