Software Engineer, Kernel, BIOS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Integrate the most recent developments in the Linux Kernel for internal applications and as a foundation for Arista EOS.

• Enhance and create new kernel features pertinent to necessary functionalities.

• Collaborate with the kernel community to upstream integrations.

• Oversee CPU subsystems across all Arista products.

• Assess new CPUs and work alongside CPU/BIOS vendors to incorporate their stacks into EOS.

• Initiate and validate CPU/BIOS components within hardware products.

• Create software features, troubleshoot issues, and optimize code for scalability and performance.

• Take ownership of projects from initial definition to deployment and customer engagement.

• Guarantee the quality of the software delivered.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

• Over 5 years of experience with C or C++ and Python.

• Practical experience in working with Linux Kernel software is advantageous.

• Knowledge of IP networking and/or distributed systems is beneficial.

• Applied understanding of software engineering principles.

• Excellent problem-solving and software debugging skills.

• Capability to design solutions and successfully implement them.
