Senior Director, Full-Stack Engineer, Shopping Tech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee, manage, and expand multiple teams of software engineers with a focus on product development.

• Define long-term technical strategies and architecture standards for enterprise-level platforms.

• Collaborate with senior engineering and business leaders to synchronize product roadmaps with scalable technology capabilities.

• Spearhead talent strategies, succession planning, skills development, and ensure equitable opportunities across engineering teams.

• Provide mentorship and guidance for the professional and technical growth of engineers.

• Collaborate with product managers to outline application functionalities, testing scenarios, and customer experiences.

• Continuously enhance software engineering methodologies.

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions utilizing full-stack technologies within and among Agile teams.

• Lead the quality, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions.

• Remain up-to-date with technology trends, experiment with new technologies, engage in technology communities, and mentor members of the engineering community.

• Foster innovation, adoption of cutting-edge technology, inclusivity, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.

• Enhance engineering velocity across the organization.

• Oversee the deployment of both new and existing applications into AWS environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering).

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in people management.

• At least 9 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture.

• Minimum of 9 years of experience in enterprise architecture and design patterns.

• A minimum of 9 years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

• At least 9 years of experience in data architecture.

• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

• Preferred: 12+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture.

• Preferred: 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture and design patterns.

• Preferred: 12+ years of experience in web technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript, and SPA frameworks).

• Preferred: 12+ years of experience designing and building distributed HPC and ML systems.

• Preferred: 12+ years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

• Preferred: 12+ years of experience in data architecture.

• Preferred: 12+ years of professional coding experience in Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.

• Preferred: 10+ years of experience with databases and database management systems.

• Preferred: 12+ years of professional experience throughout the complete system development lifecycle.

• Preferred: 7+ years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.

• Preferred: 12+ years of experience with networking protocols and integration with third-party distributed systems.

• Preferred: 7+ years of experience mentoring senior engineers and promoting professional development within technical teams.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience leading cross-domain architectural reviews or establishing coding and design standards.

• Expertise in the strategic use of agentic AI coding tools.
