Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Design and construct the internal platform layer, including the infrastructure and CI/CD tools utilized by engineering teams.

• Develop modern, scalable full-stack solutions that incorporate AI capabilities, primarily using Python and increasingly Node.js.

• Take ownership of observability tools and vendor integrations, with a focus on Dynatrace.

• Perform systems analysis and suggest modifications to policies and procedures.

• Communicate architectural standards across different teams.

• Mentor developers in implementing best practices.

• Support and integrate AWS infrastructure across various regions.

• Shape architecture, enhance platform reliability and scalability, and establish reusable software patterns.

• Act as a technical authority on challenging and ambiguous platform issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software development.

• Strong understanding of common architectural patterns and a working knowledge of company-wide infrastructure.

• Experience with large language models (LLMs) or similar AI technologies for generating, interpreting, and refining codebases.

• Comfortable working across a wide range of tools; extensive use of Cursor with increasing usage of Claude.

• Expert-level proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.

• Proven track record of owning a domain and establishing cross-team, interdependent roadmaps.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Demonstrated success in mentoring or providing technical leadership to fellow engineers.

• Passionate about building exceptional platforms and fostering the success of development teams.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (this will differentiate you).

• AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications (this will differentiate you).
