Senior AI Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and continuously enhance AI agents, including real-time voice agents, along with the LLM-powered products associated with them.

• Develop and scale the production backend and platform supporting the agents, emphasizing high volume, high throughput, and reliability.

• Integrate agents into software workflows and introduce new models into the platform, complete with benchmarks and evaluations.

• Take ownership of architecture and design decisions related to agents, the voice pipeline, and the overall platform.

• Advance the AI function by establishing best practices, elevating standards in reviews, and mentoring team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in building and operating production software.

• In-depth knowledge of software architecture and design for high-throughput, scalable systems, including building agents and integrating them into production software, as well as real-time voice agents (telephony, STT, TTS, latency constraints).

• Practical understanding of how LLMs are constructed and their behavior.

• Strong experience with Python, SQL, and event-driven design.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.

• Proven experience leading complex and ambiguous projects from initial concept to ongoing maintenance.

• Background in providing technical guidance and mentoring team members.

• Fluent and confident communication skills in English.

• AI fluency at least at Explorer (Level 1), utilizing AI daily to enhance personal productivity.

• Preferred: experience in delivering LLM-powered features with observability and evaluations.

• Preferred: experience in healthcare or other regulated industries.

• Preferred: experience in designing experiments and accurately interpreting their results.

• Preferred: experience in serving multiple clients from a single codebase.
