Cloud Software Engineer – Observability Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage distributed systems that collect, process, and store telemetry data at an extensive scale.

• Take responsibility for the reliability, performance, capacity, and cost-effectiveness of telemetry pipelines and storage solutions.

• Engage in the on-call rotation and assist in resolving production incidents.

• Drive root-cause solutions to completion.

• Create software and automation tools that remove repetitive operational tasks.

• Enhance platform operability.

• Identify architectural constraints and contribute to shaping the roadmap for future scaling.

• Collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and service teams throughout ClickHouse.

• Participate in architecture and design evaluations.

• Help elevate engineering quality across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and managing production systems at scale.

• Strong expertise in Go programming language.

• Experience in building and managing services on Kubernetes.

• Proficient with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Argo CD.

• Practical experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Hands-on knowledge of telemetry systems like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar technologies.

• Capability to tackle ambiguous production challenges and make informed engineering decisions.

• Ability to take ownership from design through to operational execution.

• Comfortable with debugging unfamiliar distributed systems in a production environment.

• Skillful in making pragmatic tradeoffs between reliability, performance, delivery speed, and cost.

• Excellent communication skills in a remote, asynchronous-friendly setting.
