Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of a key product, platform, or cross-team capability domain.

• Define the technical direction and establish a multi-year roadmap strategy.

• Make architectural and product decisions that span multiple teams.

• Transform ambiguous business challenges from concept to production while assessing customer impact.

• Develop and expand platforms or tools that are utilized by other teams.

• Set standards, patterns, and evaluation systems for AI development.

• Identify incorrect AI outputs confidently prior to release.

• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams on product strategy.

• Guide Senior engineers through complex technical and ambiguous decisions.

• Engage directly with customers through user interviews, session recordings, and support ride-alongs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience with production systems to have developed strong opinions.

• Proven ability to change team dynamics through AI integration, resulting in new methods being adopted.

• Expertise in one of the following areas: systems, platforms, reliability, security, AI tooling, or customer-focused product engineering, along with fluency in the others.

• Competence in independently addressing ambiguous problems.

• Skill to evaluate work based on customer or system impact.

• A proactive mindset with a keen interest in identifying and implementing improvements.

• Technical screening will be language-agnostic and disallow the use of AI.

• Must utilize AI in your work and demonstrate your thought process in submissions and interviews.
