Staff Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create and execute high-performance, low-complexity networking code for the Zscaler Client Connector, primarily utilizing Rust.

• Establish robust, easily-testable, and thoroughly documented foundations across various desktop platforms.

• Troubleshoot intricate network-related issues through systems programming and security protocols.

• Make substantial contributions to significant development initiatives.

• Work closely with product managers and cross-functional teams to implement features that impact customers.

• Engage in proactive and constructive communication to address challenges related to scale, quality, performance, and security.

• Enhance code quality and develop high-performance networking code that operates on multiple desktop platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience in languages such as C++.

• A minimum of 3 years of coding experience with Rust, particularly in systems programming and asynchronous frameworks like Tokio and Reqwest.

• Extensive experience in networking, especially with tunneling applications and IPv4/IPv6 transport mechanisms.

• Proven curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a track record of integrating new technologies into daily operations.

• Experience with client operating systems including macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android (preferred).

• Familiarity with Swift and Objective-C (preferred).

• Experience utilizing AI coding tools throughout the software development life cycle (preferred).

• Capability to harness AI technologies and workflows to achieve measurable operational efficiency (preferred).
