Staff Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead with technical expertise while staying integrated within a development team.

• Take ownership of intricate technical challenges and design scalable, high-performance solutions.

• Produce clean, maintainable production code using Go, Scala, or TypeScript with React/GraphQL.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate production issues by identifying root causes and implementing enduring fixes.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and engineers to develop valuable customer features.

• Utilize AI-driven techniques, intelligent tools, automation, and data-informed debugging methods.

• Set a standard in code reviews, mentor developers, and advocate for best practices in development and testing.

• Identify and integrate technical enhancements throughout the codebase, systems, and developer workflows.

• Collaborate with various teams to ensure uniformity in implementation, performance, and user experience.

• Share insights, review designs, and contribute to reusable tools, libraries, or frameworks.

• Deliver production-quality software that enhances Auvik’s products and platform at scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical engineering experience in addressing challenging problems through coding and constructing scalable systems.

• Strong understanding of system design, clean coding standards, and troubleshooting complex issues.

• Familiarity with logging, tracing, metrics collection, and alerting tools and practices, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Datadog.

• Experience in addressing performance bottlenecks or scalability issues in high-traffic environments.

• Background in developing tools or frameworks that enhance developer efficiency.

• Contributions to open-source projects or personal side projects.

• Proficiency with React (TypeScript), GraphQL, Go, Scala, Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS.

• Capability to use AI in a practical manner to tackle complex engineering challenges.

• Ability to independently lead projects from inception to completion.

• Skill in collaborating across functions and effectively communicating ideas.

• Capacity to mentor developers and provide insightful feedback during code reviews.
