Staff Security Engineer, Proactive Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and management of security services within DoorDash’s Product and Cloud Security sectors.

• Develop and sustain essential security products, such as Remote Access Management, Secrets Management, Tokenization, Knowledge Graphs, and Access Control at DoorDash's scale.

• Collaborate with Core Infrastructure, Product Engineering, Legal, Security teams, and vendor partners to create secure “paved paths.”

• Offer actionable insights to integrate secure design practices into product and infrastructure development.

• Direct the technical strategy and roadmap for the designated area of responsibility.

• Establish and uphold operational excellence standards to minimize downtime.

• Engage in the on-call rotation and respond swiftly to on-call incidents.

• Oversee security product feature requests and enhancements through triage, validation, design, testing, and implementation.

• Propel improvements to engineering standards and utilize LLM advancements to boost productivity and efficiency.

• Mentor and guide junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience as a software engineer in information security or infrastructure engineering.

• Proven record of enhancing a company’s infrastructure security posture.

• Comprehensive technical experience across various infrastructure and security domains in extensive production environments.

• Expertise in distributed systems and platform development using Java, Scala, Kotlin, or Golang.

• Strong background with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.

• Proficient in cloud infrastructure and management within AWS and GCP.

• Experience addressing complex, systemic challenges that require innovative thinking and solutions.

• Outstanding analytical and investigative skills.

• Practical experience in leading root cause analysis.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reviewing design documents with cloud infrastructure, security, and engineering teams.
