Staff Security Engineer, Incident Response

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Address incidents as part of a distributed 24/7 operations and on-call rotation.

• Assess and respond to security alerts and events, ensuring prompt and effective containment.

• Perform analysis and forensics across various data sources to identify the timeline and impact of security incidents.

• Offer technical leadership and guide team direction.

• Create solutions utilizing AI and agentic platforms to provide autonomous capabilities, streamline workflows, and enhance the team's effectiveness.

• Articulate technical decisions through design documentation and technical presentations.

• Mentor junior security responders by providing security guidance, conducting design reviews, and performing code reviews.

• Report directly to the regional Incident Response manager as an individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active or current US GOV Secret clearance eligibility; Top Secret is preferred.

• Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience in Incident Response work, or a Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience.

• Expertise in cloud security in at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with the others.

• Proficient in AI/LLM and agentic capabilities; experience in creating and managing agentic systems within a security context is preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of security subject matter.

• Proficiency in essential Incident Response skills such as DFIR, Reverse Engineering, Traditional Network Security, storage and access security, Sandboxing, or Compute security.

• Experience with Enterprise Security and SaaS applications.

• Familiarity with SIEM and SOAR tools.

• Experience in developing Incident Response Tooling, scripting language skills, and familiarity with AI coding tools.

• Candidates must be based in the US; those located outside the specified California location but elsewhere in the US will be considered.
