This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +6 more countries.
• Define the vision, strategy, and cross-product roadmap to transition uninstrumented workloads into healthy and useful telemetry in Grafana Cloud.
• Take ownership of the complete OpenTelemetry Experience journey for instrumenting workloads and transmitting valuable data to Grafana Cloud.
• Develop onboarding and configuration experiences that encompass SDK instrumentation, automatic instrumentation, and Collector-based deployment.
• Identify and resolve issues related to setup failures, abandonment, misconfiguration, and low-quality telemetry.
• Establish shared principles, priorities, and success metrics among product and engineering teams.
• Leverage customer research, product data, and market insights to prioritize investments and assess onboarding, telemetry health, and expansion results.
• Collaborate with Grafana Cloud solution teams to transition from telemetry ingestion to product activation.
• Work in partnership with Engineering, Design, Documentation, Developer Relations, Product Marketing, and go-to-market teams.
• Assist in defining product narratives, differentiation strategies, launches, technical content, adoption programs, and marketing campaigns.
• Represent Grafana Labs and its customers in discussions within the OpenTelemetry ecosystem.
• Utilize AI tools to expedite research synthesis, analyze product signals, prototype experiences, develop positioning content, and test agent-led instrumentation journeys.
• A minimum of 5 years of Product Management experience in developer tools, observability, infrastructure, data platforms, or other technically complex B2B product domains.
• Proven experience leading strategy and execution across multiple engineering teams or product areas without direct organizational authority.
• Strong proficiency in OpenTelemetry, covering SDK instrumentation, OTLP, Collector pipelines, telemetry context, and semantic conventions.
• Experience in using or developing instrumentation systems, agents, telemetry collectors, configuration products, or similar infrastructure.
• Understanding of software deployment and operation across Kubernetes, virtual machines, and public cloud environments.
• Ability to transform complex onboarding, configuration, and troubleshooting workflows into clear product experiences.
• Experience in utilizing customer research and product data to inform decisions and achieve measurable outcomes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or the open-source observability ecosystem.
• Bonus: Experience with automatic instrumentation, eBPF, or runtime-based instrumentation.
• Bonus: Firsthand experience as an SRE, platform engineer, developer, or observability practitioner.
• Bonus: Experience in creating product-led onboarding, configuration validation, or telemetry health experiences at scale.
