Staff Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee design projects from inception to launch, working in tandem with engineers and fellow designers to create exceptional user experiences.

• Utilize design thinking principles in product development to address real user challenges with clarity and simplicity.

• Transform broad product concepts into concrete design strategies through research, prototyping, and iterative processes.

• Develop comprehensive mobile and web experiences that balance user requirements, technical feasibility, business objectives, visual excellence, and brand representation.

• Contribute to and enhance OpenSea’s design system across various product interfaces.

• Assist designers and engineers in effectively utilizing emerging AI-driven tools and methodologies.

• Investigate and advocate for AI-enabled design processes that enhance team productivity.

• Articulate design rationale across various disciplines and unify teams around common objectives.

• Influence OpenSea’s design culture through a commitment to craftsmanship, collaboration, and inquisitiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of product design experience with both consumer and platform-facing products.

• Capability to navigate complex and ambiguous problem domains and transform them into seamless, intuitive solutions.

• Strong product insight and strategic thought within a lean product organization.

• Significant experience in designing mobile-first products.

• Outstanding visual and interaction design competencies.

• A portfolio that showcases aesthetic discernment, systems thinking, and careful attention to detail.

• Experience in building, scaling, or managing design systems, component libraries, or comparable frameworks.

• Proven ability to collaborate closely with engineers to deliver technically sound designs.

• Familiarity with leveraging AI tools and workflows to enhance design quality, efficiency, and team performance.

• A broad skill set spanning UI, UX, motion, and interaction, with a strong emphasis on visual design and craftsmanship.

• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.

• Portfolio submission is mandatory.
