Staff Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and refine enterprise product and service experiences within intricate industrial settings.

• Identify ambiguous problem areas, coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize, establish success metrics, and outline actionable design strategies.

• Convert customer requirements, business objectives, and technical limitations into product prospects, experience principles, and quantifiable outcomes.

• Guide cross-functional teams through story-mapping workshops to synchronize user journeys, delineate scope, and prioritize incremental delivery.

• Utilize systems thinking to link immediate product choices with the overarching platform and portfolio strategy.

• Create human-centered interaction models for AI-driven products, encompassing conversational, recommendation, and decision-support experiences.

• Implement responsible AI principles while balancing automation with human oversight, transparency, and user agency.

• Leverage AI-assisted tools to expedite exploration while preserving human judgment.

• Direct design efforts from initial product definition through detailed interaction design, crafting journey maps, workflows, prototypes, and production-ready specifications.

• Develop cohesive experiences across products, workflows, and user roles using design-system patterns and suggesting enhancements.

• Organize and execute stakeholder interviews, usability tests, and focus groups.

• Utilize research insights, product data, and business evidence to inform and assess design decisions.

• Collaborate with engineering to ensure implementations are consistent with approved designs, workflows, accessibility standards, and design-system guidelines.

• Review prototypes, builds, and pull-request artifacts to identify potential experience risks prior to release.

• Establish scalable design-quality practices linking Figma specifications, reusable components, acceptance criteria, and implemented experiences.

• Construct, modify, or enhance functional prototypes in code-based and AI-assisted development environments.

• Act as a strategic design partner to product and engineering leaders.

• Communicate product and experience strategy to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.

• Provide constructive critique and mentorship to enhance the judgment and craftsmanship of other designers.

• Contribute reusable guidance that improves delivery across the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in product design, interaction design, or user experience, including complex enterprise or platform-level projects.

• Portfolio showcasing problem framing, interaction design, systems thinking, prototyping, and product impact.

• Experience collaborating with product management and engineering throughout the product lifecycle, including design systems and design-to-code workflows.

• Proven ability to influence product direction without formal authority.

• Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

• Experience contributing to design systems and partnering with engineering on reusable components.

• Proficient in using product analytics, customer feedback, and other evidence to evaluate product outcomes and guide design decisions.

• Working knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML and CSS.

• Experience utilizing code-based and AI-assisted development environments to build, modify, or enhance functional prototypes.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
