Staff Product Designer – AI Builder

📋 Description

• Take ownership of a customer journey or significant product experience from start to finish within Babylist's web and native app ecosystem.

• Establish the design vision for the experience with a 12 to 18-month outlook and outline the sequence of strategic initiatives.

• Create and develop intuitive, high-quality experiences that address genuine problems and drive results.

• Set and instruct standards for product quality, enjoyment, and excellence.

• Engage with customers and plan as well as conduct user research.

• Develop rapid feedback loops through user testing, Babylist communities, and various other channels.

• Contribute to and enhance Babylist's design system and reusable components.

• Create AI-driven workflows for research synthesis, quick prototyping, production code, and interaction exploration.

• Write, implement, refine, and enhance production frontend code.

• Manage transitions, micro-interactions, loading states, empty states, error states, and keyboard behavior.

• Develop AI-enabled workflows that empower non-designers to contribute to the experience layer.

• Mentor designers through timely and specific feedback.

• Assist in hiring and share tools, patterns, and best practices.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and analysts to drive high-impact projects forward.

• Design repeatable systems that enable the team to deliver faster without compromising quality.

• A portfolio showcasing shipped consumer product work across web and native mobile platforms.

• Experience in conducting generative and evaluative research.

• Capability to leverage qualitative and quantitative evidence in design decisions.

• Strong product strategy and critical-thinking skills.

• Ability to create interactive prototypes in hours rather than weeks.

• Proficiency in writing production frontend code.

• Experience utilizing AI in design and product development processes.

• Ability to instrument work and monitor relevant metrics.

• Aptitude to contribute to and develop design systems.

• Skill in collaborating with product managers, engineers, data partners, and analysts.

• Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate design rationale.

• Capability to mentor and provide constructive feedback to fellow designers.
