Staff Product Designer – AI Builder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of a significant Babylist customer journey or product experience from start to finish across web and mobile platforms.

• Establish the design vision and a 12–18-month roadmap of product initiatives.

• Create and develop intuitive, emotionally resonant experiences that drive business results.

• Define and educate on standards for quality, delight, and product excellence.

• Conduct customer research, user testing, and gather feedback through Babylist communities and other channels.

• Contribute to and enhance Babylist’s design system and reusable components.

• Develop AI-driven workflows for research synthesis, rapid prototyping, production code, and interaction exploration.

• Implement, refine, and enhance designs within the production frontend codebase.

• Promote design democratization through AI-enabled workflows and collaboration with non-designers.

• Mentor designers through feedback, involvement in hiring, and sharing tools and practices.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and analysts to drive high-impact initiatives.

• Design repeatable systems that enable teams to deliver faster without compromising quality.

• A portfolio showcasing shipped consumer product work across web and mobile platforms.

• Strong attention to detail in interactions, transitions, motion, and overall product feel.

• A systems-thinking approach across user flows, products, and design systems.

• Familiarity with established interaction patterns and design conventions.

• Capability to independently plan and conduct generative and evaluative research.

• Proficiency in utilizing qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.

• Skills in product strategy and critical thinking.

• Ability to create interactive prototypes in a matter of hours rather than weeks.

• Competence in independently writing production frontend code.

• A portfolio featuring work developed using AI-native workflows.

• Experience leveraging AI to enhance speed and output.

• Ability to measure and track product metrics effectively.

• Flexibility in navigating ambiguity and collaborating across teams.
