This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide high-quality solutions engineering while optimizing intricate hybrid (on-premises/multi-cloud) network topologies (VPC/VNet design, transit/hub architectures, SD-WAN overlays, segmentation) for enhanced performance, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.

• Create and enhance reusable network automation playbooks and infrastructure-as-code templates (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions workflows) to standardize provisioning and minimize manual interventions.

• Oversee advanced troubleshooting and post-incident engineering evaluations for critical, multi-layered issues (routing, security policies, load balancing, cloud gateways).

• Assess emerging networking features (cloud edge services, private connectivity options, observability enhancements) and pilot solutions following established architectural guidelines.

• Act as the technical lead for medium to large-scale network and cloud connectivity projects (migrations, expansions, modernization), ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.

• Generate and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation (high/low-level designs, diagrams, test plans, implementation and rollback procedures, automation scripts).

• Coordinate interdependencies with Security, Platform, Storage, Application, and Telecom teams to guarantee cohesive solution delivery.

• Provide technical insights for lifecycle refresh planning and capacity modeling in accordance with approved roadmaps.

• Offer senior technical mentorship to Network Engineers, facilitating design reviews, configuration validations, and knowledge transfer on cloud and automation methodologies.

• Deliver detailed utilization and efficiency metrics (bandwidth, session counts, policy objects, cloud egress costs) to assist in optimization and budgeting processes.

• Help uphold standards for configuration baselines, documentation quality, inventory accuracy, and license utilization.

• Design solutions that prioritize reliability, low latency, predictable performance, and simplified operational support.

• Ensure that knowledge base/run-book content and self-service materials (automation triggers, standardized change templates) remain current and accessible.

• Contribute to high-severity incident communications, translating technical updates into clear business impacts and actionable steps.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate new services (pilot testing, user acceptance, performance benchmarks) and incorporate feedback effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• One or more advanced professional certifications in core networking/cloud platforms (Cisco CCNP/CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, Arista ACE). Ongoing pursuit of additional certifications is expected.

• 8+ years of progressive network engineering experience within medium to large enterprise environments.

• 3+ years of experience in designing and operating cloud provider networks (AWS VPC, Azure, hybrid connectivity, private endpoints, cloud firewalls, etc.).

• Proven leadership experience in complex multi-site/multi-cloud implementation or migration projects.

• Hands-on experience with automation (infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, scripting, GitHub Actions workflow orchestration) aimed at driving operational efficiency.

• Advanced troubleshooting capabilities across routing, switching, network security, load balancing, DNS, and connectivity to cloud/SaaS services.
