Staff Kubernetes Platform Engineer, Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and develop essential platform systems, which include APIs, controllers, operators, and reconciliation loops.

• Write, review, test, debug, and maintain production code.

• Develop a commercial Kubernetes service tailored for dedicated clients operating AI workloads.

• Design mechanisms for failure handling, consistency, and recovery in distributed systems.

• Establish stable platform APIs that protect customers from backend modifications.

• Collaborate closely with infrastructure, inference, networking, and security teams.

• Contribute to defining the technical trajectory of the managed Kubernetes platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be located in Dallas, San Francisco, or New York City.

• Proven history of deploying and maintaining production software.

• Extensive experience with the Kubernetes platform, including operators, CRDs, admission control, and node lifecycle management.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts, such as consensus, leader election, eventual consistency, and fault domains.

• Strong background in SDLC practices, encompassing design reviews, CI/CD, staged rollouts, rollbacks, and observability.

• Preferred: experience delivering a Kubernetes or infrastructure control plane as a product.

• Preferred: experience with hyperscalers or neocloud environments handling AI or GPU workloads.

• Preferred: familiarity with inference platforms, accelerators, or device plugins.

• Preferred: daily utilization of coding assistants like Claude Code or Codex.

• Must possess authorization to work in the U.S. or meet U.S. work authorization and sponsorship criteria.
