Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and Client Engineers to convert business and user requirements into reliable, low-latency technical solutions.

• Take ownership of the entire software lifecycle for significant product initiatives, encompassing technical design documents and API contracts through development, testing, deployment, and observability.

• Create, implement, and assess A/B experiments utilizing tools like BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase.

• Examine user behavior, conversion funnels, and retention loops to inform data-driven engineering choices.

• Develop and sustain scalable GraphQL, REST, and gRPC APIs along with distributed backend services.

• Set engineering best practices and enhance developer workflows.

• Mentor, coach, and collaborate with technical team members.

• Identify, define, and lead high-impact projects that align with Reddit’s objectives.

• Create efficient, scalable, and high-quality architecture for authentication, authorization, and identity management.

• Work in partnership with cross-functional teams throughout Reddit Engineering.

• Continuously learn and enhance both technical and non-technical skills.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in developing internet-scale software, ideally focused on distributed systems infrastructure or infrastructure security.

• Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages: Golang, Python, C++, or Java.

• Familiarity with essential cloud infrastructure components such as Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, and GCP.

• Practical experience in implementing features, optimizations, and fixes for distributed messaging systems.

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product management.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
