Staff iOS Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical strategy and execution of a vital iOS product experience involving bitcoin and stablecoin.

• Develop iOS products related to bitcoin, stablecoin, and non-custodial wallets.

• Collaborate across platforms, including Cash App, Square, and Bitkey.

• Manage complex features from inception to completion, encompassing client architecture, service integration, testing, deployment, and post-launch enhancements.

• Partner with product and design teams to refine customer journeys, prototype interactions, and formulate delivery plans.

• Create prototypes, reference implementations, and establish critical paths.

• Impact technical direction and manage dependencies with related teams.

• Enhance architecture and shared components.

• Develop automated testing, observability, and safe deployment practices, ensuring security, privacy, and compliance measures are in place.

• Integrate and assess AI-assisted development tools.

• Contribute to codebases beyond the iOS platform.

• Lead architecture and design reviews across different teams.

• Identify systemic risks and overarching technical challenges.

• Guide engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and structured mentorship.

• Establish technical standards to enhance the quality and speed of iOS development.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and engineering leaders.

• Work alongside Android, web, and backend engineers on shared infrastructure and cross-platform experiences.

• Represent bitcoin iOS in technical discussions, articulating complex decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of professional software engineering experience, including a minimum of 4 years in building native iOS products.

• Extensive experience in developing, shipping, and maintaining native iOS products utilizing Swift and Apple frameworks.

• Proven track record in creating foundational systems, shared frameworks, and tools widely adopted by your team.

• Demonstrated leadership in strategic initiatives with significant reach and lasting impact.

• Strong systems thinking, technical communication, mentoring abilities, and organizational influence.

• Proficient in Swift, Objective-C, SwiftUI, UIKit, Swift Concurrency, Combine, Xcode, and Instruments.

• Familiarity with build systems, continuous integration, delivery, testing infrastructure, observability, or mobile performance is highly desirable.

• Experience with large, modular iOS applications, including existing UIKit or Objective-C codebases is highly desirable.

• Background in supporting customer-facing or seller-facing products in financial services, commerce, or other high-trust environments is highly desirable.

• Experience with experimentation infrastructure, feature flags, or large-scale product delivery is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of bitcoin, stablecoin, and non-custodial technologies is highly desirable.
