Staff Full-Stack Engineer, Next.js, Medusa

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design the architecture for Scento's commerce platform, utilizing a Next.js storefront alongside a Medusa backend powered by PostgreSQL.

• Develop and enhance a custom Stripe checkout system that accommodates multiple currencies and languages.

• Spearhead initiatives focused on performance (Core Web Vitals), reliability, observability, and security.

• Establish engineering standards and perform code reviews.

• Mentor and assist fellow engineers in their daily tasks.

• Collaborate directly with Product, Growth, and Operations teams on high-impact features.

• Make practical trade-offs between speed and sustainability while effectively communicating decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in building and operating production web systems, with several years at the Staff or Principal level.

• In-depth knowledge of TypeScript, React, and Next.js.

• Strong understanding of Node.js and PostgreSQL.

• Experience in payments, headless commerce, or managing high-traffic e-commerce environments.

• Proficient in English.
