This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of, develop, and manage a technically sophisticated system that requires its own strategic direction.

• Drive the creation of technical specifications for the system.

• Make impactful decisions regarding what to develop, scale, or discontinue while navigating ambiguous challenges and take responsibility for the results.

• Enhance the entire system beyond the scope of individual engineering responsibilities.

• Influence, contribute to, or escalate issues to seek solutions in systems managed by other teams.

• Define and create high-impact solutions utilizing a team of agents.

• Monitor deployed systems for adoption and usage, verifying the value delivered through data analysis.

• Guide engineers in taking ownership of highly intricate systems.

• Recognize and address risks related to engineering, security, data loss, misuse, jailbreak vulnerabilities, unintended capabilities, and data exposure prior to release.

• Spearhead discovery initiatives, spikes, prototypes, proofs of concept, and the robust adoption of innovative techniques in production.

• Develop documentation that enables other teams to utilize systems without the need for ongoing coordination meetings.

• Build and manage evaluation and validation frameworks for AI-assisted or AI-native systems.

• Stay updated on cutting-edge techniques and AI-specific vulnerabilities, implementing suitable production responses.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must have a valid right to work in the United States.

• Possess an understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, applying this knowledge in daily engineering practices.

• Utilize enterprise-approved AI tools (such as Claude) as primary productivity enhancers throughout the entire development lifecycle.

• Implement Pax8 data classification and privacy principles prior to sharing any data with AI systems.

• Commit to responsible AI practices, actively recognizing and mitigating bias while upholding fairness and transparency standards.

• Exhibit advanced prompting skills: handling multi-turn context, eliciting chain-of-thought responses, enforcing structured outputs, and refining iteratively.

• Build and manage evaluation and validation frameworks for AI-assisted or AI-native systems.

• Apply rigorous scrutiny to code produced by agents within a highly complex system.

• Keep track of state-of-the-art techniques and AI-specific vulnerability categories.

• Demonstrate a proven record of being the primary owner of a problem space integral to the organization, achieved through building and managing it.

• Have experience mentoring fellow Frontier Engineers in taking ownership of intricate systems.

• Possess experience in transforming techniques from academic papers or external sources into prototypes and proofs of concept, culminating in a robust, safety-reviewed production launch.
