Staff Frontend Engineer – Grafana DataViz

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead technical initiatives spanning multiple quarters, from defining problems to deployment.

• Collect user feedback and assess whether delivered solutions meet their objectives.

• Guide and collaborate with engineers through code evaluations, design suggestions, and paired programming.

• Participate in on-call duties for services, contributing to incident management and post-incident analysis.

• Offer technical assistance during customer escalations and pinpoint areas causing user difficulties.

• Represent the team's contributions across various squads.

• Draft design proposals and conduct demonstrations.

• Advocate for the team's strategic roadmap during cross-team conversations.

• Develop and enhance Grafana visualizations for improved data accessibility.

• Collaborate with the Grafana Frontend team and engage with other squads to address complex engineering issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be located in the United States or Canada, working within the EST/CST time zones.

• Proven experience leading teams through projects, mentoring engineers, and acting as a force multiplier.

• Strong communication skills in a fully remote, asynchronous work environment.

• Experience with on-call responsibilities and providing support for software in a production setting.

• Background in ensuring system reliability and managing incident responses.

• Ability to construct production-level software systems and address complex engineering challenges with minimal oversight.

• User-centric, pragmatic methodology employing short feedback cycles.

• Familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks.

• Interest in making contributions to the Grafana community.

• Preferred: experience with open-source contribution or maintainership.

• Preferred: interest in observability metrics, logs, and traces, utilizing tools like Grafana or Prometheus.

• Preferred: prior on-call experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Tempo.

• Preferred: experience in a fully remote, globally distributed team.
