Staff Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Define the frontend architecture and engineering strategy across product teams while staying actively involved in coding.

• Establish the architectural direction for frontend development using React, React Native, and the shared monorepo.

• Take ownership of cross-team challenges in platform capabilities, shared libraries, design-system foundations, tooling, and developer experience.

• Lead discussions on boundaries, abstractions, data and state flow, performance, testing, and migration strategies.

• Identify and resolve systemic issues related to rendering, bundling, runtime, and release quality, providing sustainable solutions.

• Remain actively engaged in implementation, prototyping, and technical exploration.

• Collaborate with product management, backend engineering, and QA on cross-team risks and decision-making.

• Mentor senior engineers, enhance review quality, and elevate frontend judgment across teams.

• Strike a balance between standardization and team independence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated architectural or platform impact across several frontend teams.

• Comprehensive ownership of intricate production systems developed with React or React Native and TypeScript.

• Strong judgment regarding application boundaries, shared libraries, state management, performance, and migration design.

• Proven track record of enhancing developer effectiveness, reliability, or product quality through sustainable mechanisms.

• Hands-on experience in diagnosing performance and accuracy issues in web or mobile systems.

• Capability to influence technical direction through evidence, clear reasoning, and reliable execution rather than title alone.

• Effective communication skills that empower teams to make informed decisions on complex technical matters.

• Strong engineering and product judgment, particularly in recognizing when not to introduce a new abstraction.

• Experience with TypeScript, React, React Native, React Native Web, Nx, pnpm, TanStack Query, Zustand, Playwright, Detox, and Jest.
