Staff Experience Designer – International

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design of various international initiatives by establishing design strategy, objectives, a comprehensive user-experience vision, and meticulous design execution.

• Influence the Airbnb platform from a global perspective, ensuring alignment with and enhancement of brand and product architecture.

• Collaborate with Country Managers, Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, Researchers, Localization Managers, and Writers to identify challenges and objectives, outline user flows, prototype interactions, and launch products and services.

• Impact global leadership and stakeholder decisions through compelling narratives and clear viewpoints.

• Assist teams in navigating uncertainty and defining as well as addressing complex issues for diverse global audiences.

• Define project scopes with DPMs, PMs, and engineers while clarifying design processes, task distribution, and timelines.

• Offer indirect leadership and guidance to fellow designers through critiques of interaction and visual design.

• Advocate for design thinking and best practices across various functions.

• Report directly to a Manager or Director of Experience Design as an individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in design or as a design leader.

• Capability to independently develop design directions and processes while mentoring and guiding teams through execution.

• Strategic thought leadership to help teams navigate uncertainty, establish visions, and advance global product design strategies.

• Systems-oriented mindset for creating comprehensive online and offline user experiences.

• Outstanding interaction and visual design skills.

• Strong analytical abilities coupled with deep empathy; adept at synthesizing user insights into effective solutions and actionable design milestones.

• Excellent storytelling, presentation, and communication skills.

• Strong capabilities in stakeholder management.

• Experience with end-to-end product development from concept to launch or redesigning significant product elements.

• Familiarity with applying and evolving mature design systems.

• In-depth understanding of technological capabilities, business goals, user requirements, opportunities, and limitations.
