Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of major projects from inception to completion, encompassing technical design, implementation, and deployment.

• Establish the technical vision for the healthcare data platform and member management system.

• Engage with Ruby on Rails APIs, emerging Axum-based services, and Rust-based data processing pipelines.

• Shape the culture and strategic direction of the technical organization.

• Utilize technical expertise to enhance software development methodologies, including AI-assisted practices.

• Elevate engineering standards, processes, and code quality throughout the team.

• Provide mentorship to engineers and act as a technical authority.

• Partner with the Product team during product inception phases, architecture evaluations, and roadmap prioritization.

• Develop high-quality code utilizing TDD, pair programming, code reviews, static analysis, and well-documented best practices.

• Report directly to the Engineering Manager.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering.

• Proven history of leading significant projects from design to delivery.

• Expertise in both Ruby and Rust programming languages.

• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining production-grade APIs.

• Background in designing, constructing, and managing large-scale data pipelines.

• Strong technical judgment and a keen sense of software development aesthetics.

• Proficient in effectively utilizing AI-assisted development tools while adhering to high quality standards.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within engineering teams.

• Excellent communication skills characterized by transparency and positivity.

• Dedication to producing high-quality code.
