Staff Engineer – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development, testing, documentation, and deployment of high-quality, scalable software into production.

• Influence team strategy and organizational direction by leveraging industry insights, product knowledge, and roadmap expertise.

• Direct the comprehensive technical execution of intricate features and systems, from ideation and architecture to deployment and optimization.

• Establish and uphold engineering principles, guidelines, and best practices.

• Collaborate with product, design, and other stakeholders on critical technical decisions that have significant impacts.

• Manage incident resolution as part of the on-call rotation.

• Recognize and eliminate project impediments.

• Conduct and enhance code reviews.

• Guide team planning and design conversations.

• Enhance software quality, testability, operational metrics, and team documentation.

• Provide mentorship and coaching to engineers at various levels.

• Willingness to travel occasionally to Fanatics offices and other locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in developing highly scalable Android applications using MVI Architecture.

• Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin.

• In-depth knowledge of the Android domain, including platform best practices, current trends, and end-user considerations.

• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and Direct Injection or ServiceLocator patterns.

• Proficient in Agile software delivery and SCRUM methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally across diverse teams within large enterprise settings.

• Experience in a high-growth environment characterized by shifting priorities and swift decision-making.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform.

• Preferred: Experience with Material Design, particularly Material 3.

• Preferred: Background in Client API Design and Client Backend development.

• Preferred: Proficiency in GoLang, Swift, and Java.
