Staff Engineer – AI Agentic Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Director of Software Engineering.

• Design, develop, and take ownership of agent systems from inception to production for identity, fraud, risk, and commerce processes.

• Manage evaluation harnesses and ensure observability for deployed systems.

• Construct dependable, steerable, multi-step agent workflows that encompass planning, execution, outcome observation, iterative enhancement, tool utilization, and human-in-the-loop strategies.

• Diagnose non-deterministic failures across models, tools, orchestration, and infrastructure.

• Operate within a compliance-driven, globally regulated environment that prioritizes auditability, correctness, and human oversight.

• Establish and communicate the technical vision to peers and directed agents.

• Utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and uncover opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Coordinate AI agents in daily engineering tasks, validate outputs, and maintain accountability for results.

• Engage in recruiter, hiring manager, technical, and final leadership interviews as part of the recruitment process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of software engineering experience with a proven impact on production systems.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI agents within an engineering workflow.

• Proven ability to manage features end-to-end and effectively communicate trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in tackling challenging, innovative, or ambiguous projects where the problem needed to be defined.

• Practical experience in building with LLMs, including prompt engineering, RAG, tool usage, and familiarity with at least one agent framework such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.

• Experience with evaluation frameworks for assessing agent behavior.

• Preferred: experience in financial services, identity, fraud, risk, or other compliance-intensive sectors.

• Preferred: knowledge of multi-agent orchestration patterns and production-level evaluation harnesses.

• Preferred: experience with AI observability tools and MLOps methodologies.

• Preferred: familiarity with vector databases, knowledge graphs, or structured retrieval for agent memory.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada or the USA.
