Staff DevOps Engineer – Salesforce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary owner and technical authority for Salesforce DevOps practices, tools, processes, and release management.

• Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize Copado effectively.

• Design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce clouds and integrations.

• Oversee deployment workflows across various Salesforce organizations, environments, and release streams.

• Establish release governance, deployment standards, branching strategies, code promotion processes, and best practices in DevOps.

• Collaborate with development, administration, architecture, QA, infrastructure, security, product, and business teams.

• Support daily deployments, environment management, source control, release planning, and production support requests.

• Create a long-term roadmap for Salesforce DevOps maturity and automation.

• Propel continuous improvement to enhance deployment reliability, minimize manual effort, and boost developer productivity.

• Manage source code repositories using Azure DevOps and associated tools.

• Formulate environment management strategies, release schedules, deployment runbooks, and operational procedures.

• Monitor deployment performance, platform health, release quality, and DevOps metrics.

• Troubleshoot deployment issues, environment conflicts, source control challenges, and pipeline failures.

• Assess technologies and platform capabilities to enhance software delivery and operational efficiency.

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on DevOps, release management, and CI/CD practices.

• Engage in production releases, rehearsals, maintenance, and after-hours deployments.

• Ensure adherence to security, audit, change management, and regulatory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in software development, DevOps engineering, release engineering, or application lifecycle management.

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with the Salesforce platform supporting enterprise-scale implementations.

• Expert-level expertise in administering and implementing Copado within complex Salesforce environments.

• Advanced knowledge of Salesforce deployment methodologies, metadata management, environment strategies, and release management.

• Extensive experience with Salesforce Health Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.

• Strong background in Salesforce Commerce Cloud deployment and release workflows.

• Expert knowledge of Azure DevOps repositories, branching strategies, pull requests, and source control management.

• In-depth understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and release governance.

• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments, teams, and platforms.

• Strong proficiency in Git source control, branching models, merge strategies, and version management.

• Experience in developing DevOps roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively across technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

• Willingness to participate in after-hours deployments, production support, and release activities.

• Preferred: Salesforce certifications, Copado certifications, experience in regulated or healthcare environments, enterprise integrations, Azure services, infrastructure automation, DevOps maturity models, and release metrics.
