Staff Developer Experience Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance and modernize Vetcove's development workflow by integrating AI at each step.

• Implement coding agents with suitable context, tools, environments, and feedback systems.

• Manage CI and deployment processes from code modification to production.

• Minimize slow tests, inconsistent builds, manual interventions, and unnecessary delays.

• Automate repetitive engineering tasks such as triage, code review, testing, documentation, and releases.

• Create infrastructure and deployment pathways that empower non-engineering teams to develop and manage applications and automations.

• Explore new models, coding agents, and developer infrastructure.

• Introduce new tools and oversee their implementation across Vetcove.

• Incorporate testing, permissions, sandboxing, and observability into workflows.

• Collaborate with engineers to share effective practices and enhance adoption.

• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks within the team.

• Assess whether engineering is delivering faster with reduced friction.

• Work directly with engineering leadership and teams throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience utilizing coding agents and developing AI-driven workflows.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles.

• Background in designing, deploying, and maintaining production systems.

• Experience in enhancing CI/CD, testing infrastructure, development environments, or internal tools.

• Proven track record of boosting engineering productivity.

• Familiarity with agent SDKs, agent harnesses, tool integrations, and agent infrastructure.

• Technical acumen to assess build-versus-buy choices.

• Capability to navigate ambiguous problems, establish technical direction, and implement solutions through adoption.

• Proficiency in Python/Django and React/TypeScript.

• Comfort with supporting infrastructure.

• A collaborative, hands-on working style.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the country for which application is submitted.

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
