This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium, +3 more countries.
• Develop and implement the comprehensive product design strategy and UI vision for Wero.
• Establish benchmarks for visual excellence, interaction design, accessibility, and attention to detail in key product areas.
• Create essential user journeys and interaction patterns across various products and their lifecycles.
• Convert intricate business, regulatory, and technical requirements into clear, accessible, and sophisticated solutions.
• Organize and integrate both qualitative and quantitative research.
• Align business goals with user needs and transform insights into design direction.
• Guide designers and enhance design maturity within teams.
• Articulate strategy, rationale, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams.
• Define the long-term UI vision for Wero and emerging payment use cases.
• Contribute across various domains and product areas in a product-driven, cross-functional environment.
• Over 9 years of experience in product design within product-driven organizations, including management of complex product areas.
• A degree in Design, HCI, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficient in English (CEFR C1 or C2).
• Knowledge of French, German, Dutch, or other European languages is advantageous.
• Flourish in a remote-first, multicultural setting.
• Strong portfolio showcasing shipped, high-quality digital products across mobile and/or web platforms.
• Experience in defining product or experience strategy and translating it into cohesive journeys and launched UI.
• Advanced skills in Figma.
• Solid understanding of accessibility, designing to WCAG AA standards or higher.
• Experience in creating end-to-end journeys in complex digital products from discovery to iteration.
• Proven track record in shaping coherent multi-platform ecosystems.
• Comfortable utilizing qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Capable of linking research insights to product strategy and adapting direction based on evidence.
• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in influencing senior stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams.
• Ability to transition between long-term vision and detailed UI decisions.
• Experience working in distributed or multi-market teams is a plus.
• Remote-first culture with quarterly and annual all-staff in-person meetups.
