Senior Electrical Designer, Revit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide support to multidisciplinary engineering and project management teams with 2D and 3D electrical and/or instrumentation and controls (I&C) designs.

• Design and create intricate electrical systems utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.

• Develop wiring diagrams and layouts for electrical systems.

• Execute tasks related to electrical drawing development.

• Design cable trays and conduits.

• Aid in the layout of electrical equipment.

• Perform design work for lighting, devices, and circuits.

• Participate in cross-discipline model coordination.

• Apply necessary levels of detail at project design gates and milestones.

• Oversee schedules for electrical equipment and panels.

• Mentor and support less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and guidance.

• Adapt to additional project assignments as needs change.

• Conduct site visits to gather field data.

• Ensure designs comply with regulatory standards, project specifications, and design gate requirements.

• Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and project management teams serving municipal, industrial, and federal clients in the water and wastewater sectors.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical design or a related field.

• An associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology, electrical drafting, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Proficiency in the development of electrical drawings and equipment layouts.

• Skills in designing cable trays and conduits, as well as lighting, devices, and circuits.

• Ability to effectively utilize Revit and AutoCAD.

• Experience in power distribution system design, electrical equipment layout, conduit layout, lighting design, controls design, and grounding design.

• Experience with 3D/BIM design and modeling using Revit.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Bentley for design and construction documentation.

• Practical experience in conducting on-site surveys, inspections, and data collection for electrical design development.

• Familiarity with SQL database-oriented data management in production drawings.

• Knowledge of drafting standards employed by large municipal organizations.

• Understanding of the National Electric Code.

• Experience with P&ID development using AutoCAD Plant 3D or Bentley OpenPlant PID.

• Knowledge and experience in electrical safety and NFPA 70E.

• Ability to communicate ideas and concepts both visually and verbally.

• Strong writing and communication capabilities.

• Willingness to travel to sites for field data gathering.

• Selected candidate must reside in Mountain or Pacific time zones.

• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
