Staff Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish Boulevard’s product data infrastructure by outlining data capture needs, designing data models, and creating a scalable analytics technology framework with data engineering.

• Generate data-driven insights in collaboration with Product through narratives, data storytelling, and visualizations tailored to the audience.

• Develop scalable self-service dashboards, empowering stakeholders to explore and analyze data independently.

• Implement product analytics and link it to OKRs and business results.

• Conduct exploratory and in-depth analyses of customer and product behavior, focusing on funnels, retention, cohorts, and feature adoption.

• Connect product data with the broader organization to impact cross-functional decisions and results.

• Establish scalable team processes and analytical workflows that guarantee data accuracy.

• Oversee Product Development experimentation, encompassing test design, analysis, impact assessments, experimentation standards, templates, and workflow tools.

• Design quasi-experimental analyses in situations where clean A/B tests cannot be executed.

• Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to model customer behavior, adoption, retention, churn, segmentation, activation, and causal factors.

• Deploy models with data engineering, including scheduling, monitoring, version control, drift management, retraining, and retirement.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, data engineering, and executive stakeholders to influence product strategy and roadmap investments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of demonstrated experience in data science, product analytics, or engineering within a B2B SaaS or rapidly growing technology setting.

• Substantial experience in early-stage or low-data-maturity environments.

• Proficient in SQL, Python/Jupyter notebooks, Snowflake, DBT, Sigma, and AWS infrastructure.

• Strong skills in data modeling.

• Experience in designing and implementing product instrumentation strategies, including event schemas and tracking plans.

• Expertise in developing dashboards and visualizations using Sigma, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools.

• Significant experience working closely with product managers and leaders.

• Familiarity with funnel diagnostics, cohort and retention modeling, and behavioral segmentation.

• Profound statistical and machine learning knowledge, including regression, classification, propensity and churn-risk modeling, clustering, and survival and time-to-value analysis.

• Proven experience in end-to-end experimentation, covering hypothesis, metrics, randomization, power, duration, and analysis.

• Practical experience with Statsig, Optimizely, or similar experimentation platforms.

• Experience in causal inference when traditional A/B testing is not feasible.

• Capability to build and manage production-grade DBT data pipelines, transformations, orchestration, tests, documentation, and version control.

• Strong communication skills with stakeholders at every level.

• Ability to manage projects comprehensively, identify opportunities, navigate uncertainty, and develop scalable processes.

• Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and influence leadership decisions through product data.

• Experience with Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar product analytics tools is preferred.
