Staff Data Scientist, AI4Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Spearhead comprehensive data and AI projects with independence and significant business implications.

• Create and validate statistical and machine learning models aimed at identifying fraud, abuse, and waste within healthcare payments.

• Conceptualize and assess LLM-based solutions (agents, pipelines, and evaluation methods), exercising sound judgment to identify their highest value applications.

• Design experiments and analyses by formulating hypotheses and systematically testing solutions.

• Transform vaguely defined business challenges into clear, quantifiable analytical solutions.

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to guarantee the quality, integrity, and accessibility of the data that underpins the models.

• Present findings and recommendations in a clear and objective manner to a variety of technical and business stakeholders.

• Drive initiatives that integrate modeling, LLM agents, and Arvo’s data platform to conduct large-scale analyses of medical bills, generating savings for clients.

• Work closely with the Business, Health, and Data Engineering teams.

• Actively contribute to the technical growth of colleagues.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.

• Extensive experience in applied statistical modeling and/or machine learning.

• High-level proficiency in Python for data analysis and model development.

• Practical experience utilizing LLMs in analytical or product solutions, including prompting, evaluation, agents, or pipelines.

• Proficient in manipulating and querying SQL databases.

• An analytical and scientific mindset, with a proven history of resolving complex and ambiguous problems using data.

• Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders and converting business requirements into analytical solutions.

• Preferred: experience in healthtech or familiarity with healthcare data.

• Preferred: knowledge of ETL tools.

• Preferred: understanding of Google Cloud (GCP) and BigQuery.

• Preferred: experience with evaluating and monitoring LLM-based systems.
