Head of Data Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee data initiatives for private equity investors and leadership teams of portfolio companies.

• Manage senior client relationships and provide counsel to CDOs, CTOs, and executive teams.

• Formulate data strategies that align with business goals, value generation, capabilities, technology selections, operating frameworks, and delivery plans.

• Guide intricate data transformations from initial assessment to implementation planning.

• Tackle challenges related to data platform modernization, governance, quality, data products, and analytics projects.

• Structure complex data challenges, determine essential questions, create work plans, and supervise workstreams.

• Craft narratives at the executive level, offering actionable recommendations and clear decision-making frameworks.

• Facilitate communication between commercial and technical stakeholders while evaluating architecture, feasibility, and execution risks.

• Connect data initiatives to opportunity assessments, business cases, investments, benefits, trade-offs, and dependencies.

• Question existing assumptions and identify areas where specialized expertise is necessary across data engineering, architecture, governance, analytics, AI, and transformation.

• Propel engagements toward prioritized actions, accountable delivery strategies, and execution plans.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background equivalent to a high-achieving consulting Director, Associate Director, or Senior Consultant.

• Proven experience in leading complex data engagements and fostering senior client relationships.

• Robust consulting toolkit honed in strategy, digital, data, or transformation consulting, or equivalent high-stakes advisory/transformation background.

• Extensive knowledge in data strategy and data transformation.

• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms, data architecture, governance, data quality, data products, analytics, or AI enablement.

• Capability to structure complex business and data issues, formulate hypotheses, conduct thorough analyses, manage teams, and develop executive narratives.

• Established credibility with CDOs, CTOs, CIOs, CEOs, and senior leaders in data, technology, product, and transformation domains.

• Strong commercial and financial insight, including opportunity assessments, business cases, benefit quantification, investment analysis, and strategic trade-offs.

• Experience in leading complex data programs or transformations.

• Technical expertise to evaluate decisions regarding data architecture, platforms, governance, operating models, and delivery methodologies.

• Proactive leadership style with the ability to direct analysis, challenge team perspectives, and influence strategy and narratives.
