This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish the long-term vision and roadmap for the data platform architecture.
• Communicate trade-offs and sequencing strategies to the DnA and engineering leadership teams.
• Act as the technical decision-maker regarding architectural selections, technology assessments, and cross-domain standards.
• Assess and pilot new data platform technologies, conduct POCs, and formulate architectural recommendations.
• Foster alignment among Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, AI/ML Platform, Security, and Data Ops teams.
• Guide and mentor data and analytics engineers, set engineering standards, evaluate designs and PRs, and enhance platform competency.
• Establish and uphold Snowflake platform standards, including naming conventions, schema/database layouts, warehouse tiers, role hierarchies, and promotion practices.
• Manage the RBAC permission model, service-user provisioning, access patterns, and least-privilege protocols.
• Design and refine dbt Mesh and data mesh boundaries within business domains.
• Configure and maintain Snowflake account infrastructure, encompassing warehouses, resource monitors, query tags, replication, account parameters, Iceberg, External Access Integration, and compute pools.
• Oversee Atlan integration for enterprise data cataloging, lineage, and metadata lakehouse governance.
• Establish integration standards for Airflow, Fivetran, data sharing, and ELT tools.
• Architect Snowflake data infrastructure for AI/agentic workflows and LLM pipelines.
• Develop and manage MCP server infrastructure that exposes Snowflake data to AI agents and LLM workflows.
• Direct the analytical agent evaluation framework and automated testing processes.
• Collaborate with GRC and Security on FedRAMP controls, data sanitization, masking, and security assessments.
• Lead query-tag attribution, warehouse sizing strategies, and showback alignment.
• Facilitate BI, business/AI applications, analyst, and developer data access through Snowflake connectivity and performance optimization.
• Set standards for reverse-ETL and operational workloads, delegating execution to domain teams within defined guidelines.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Over 8 years of experience in data or platform engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience managing Snowflake account/platform operations at an enterprise level.
• Proven architectural judgment that balances standardization, domain autonomy, cost, security, performance, and buy/build/adopt decisions at an enterprise scale.
• Experience in designing technical RBAC models and service-user provisioning.
• Familiarity with SSO/Okta integration for Snowflake.
• Knowledge of semantic layer design on Snowflake.
• Experience with MCP server or equivalent AI data gateway infrastructure for LLM-powered workflows.
• Familiarity with analytical agent evaluation frameworks.
• Understanding of data governance, including row/column masking, secure views, Atlan cataloging, and FedRAMP/SOX compliance-boundary design.
• Proficient in advanced SQL query design and optimization in Snowflake.
• Experience with AWS data services, such as S3, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
• Proficiency in Python or scripting for platform automation and provisioning.
• Experience with dbt Core or Cloud and dbt Mesh or multi-project data mesh patterns.
• Familiarity with BI/analytics tools like QuickSight, Omni, Sigma, or Tableau.
• Experience with orchestration/ingestion tools such as Airflow, Fivetran, or Workato.
• Skills in performance and cost optimization through warehouse tuning, query analysis, resource monitoring, and query tagging.
• Experience working in an Agile/Sprint environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to convey platform strategy to business, technical, and executive audiences.
• Capability to influence technical direction and achieve alignment without direct authority.
• Strong planning and prioritization abilities.
• Comfort in navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.
• Experience in leading or contributing to cross-functional initiatives.
• Background in SaaS or subscription-based businesses.
• Proven track record of scaling enterprise data platforms across various business domains.
• Reliable internet access for remote work opportunities.
• Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. is required.
• SnowPro certification is preferred but not mandatory.
