This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the on-call Chaplain for UUA staff, offering virtual one-on-one pastoral care.
• Organize periodic group spiritual-care, nourishment, and grounding sessions.
• Develop and facilitate UUA staff chapel services or prayer/reflection gatherings bi-monthly.
• Assist with training for the General Assembly Chaplain Team and clarify expectations as needed.
• Establish meditation opportunities, vigils, circles, and supportive community formats in response to traumatic incidents.
• Provide in-person support at select UUA events.
• Offer ongoing or one-time assistance to committees or teams led by UUA staff upon request and as time permits.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by the supervisor, Executive Vice President, or President.
• Master of Divinity or an equivalent qualification.
• Completion of one or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an ACPE-accredited institution.
• Profound understanding of contemporary systems theories in trauma-informed socio-emotional frameworks, particularly in relation to Unitarian Universalist culture.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in spiritual/pastoral ministry required.
• Capacity to maintain a composed presence and uphold high confidentiality in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate high self-motivation.
• Willingness to respond to care requests within a 24-hour timeframe and provide same-day assistance in urgent cases as necessary.
• Proficiency with Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.
• Awareness of anti-racism, anti-oppression, and multicultural principles.
• Preference for candidates who can travel to occasional in-person UUA events.
• Work or personal experience with BIPOC communities is highly regarded.
• A strong desire to contribute to an organization focused on dismantling white supremacy.
• Monthly retainer fee of $1,250.
