📋 Description

• Take ownership of critical backend challenges that span across services, teams, or product domains.

• Define system boundaries and establish architectural guidance.

• Lead technical decisions by clarifying constraints, alternatives, risks, and trade-offs.

• Enhance performance, resilience, data integrity, operability, and failure management across production systems.

• Address and resolve persistent structural issues.

• Maintain a hands-on approach with implementation, diagnosis, or prototyping.

• Mentor senior engineers and elevate the quality of reviews.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leaders on sequencing, risk management, and long-term technical investments.

• Engage in recruiter discussions, code reviews, system design, and managerial interview processes.

• Profound ownership of distributed backend systems operating at substantial scale.

• Strong judgment regarding service boundaries, asynchronous communication, data ownership, consistency, and failure modes.

• Extensive knowledge of relational databases, transactions, concurrency, and high-performance design principles.

• Proven track record of enhancing reliability, scalability, observability, or developer effectiveness through sustainable mechanisms.

• Ability to shape technical direction through evidence, clarity, and trusted execution rather than relying on title.

• Excellent communication skills that assist teams in navigating complex technical decisions.

• Strong engineering fundamentals and judgment to determine when to standardize, simplify, or leave a system untouched.
