Senior Java Web Application Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with an established team of web developers to create full-stack web applications that meet operational needs.

• Document and confirm web application requirements.

• Develop automated tests that correspond with testing plans.

• Provide architectural design and development assistance to satisfy web application specifications.

• Engage in software design discussions and suggest appropriate tools, technologies, and methodologies.

• Assist in refactoring and updating current web applications to introduce new features and enhance reliability and performance.

• Ensure adherence to software security requirements by evaluating the cybersecurity status of web applications.

• Design, build, test, and maintain web applications that deliver capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense test and training communities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with at least an active Secret clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.

• Relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements.

• Over 8 years of experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining full-stack web applications and software systems.

• More than 8 years of experience in identifying and validating software application requirements.

• At least 8 years of experience with web UI components such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript (NodeJS), and Angular.

• A minimum of 2 years demonstrating the ability to design and create RESTful web services.

• Over 8 years of experience with Java EE/Jakarta EE integration, Servlets, and JDBC.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or equivalent and SQL queries.

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, Java EE (Streams, Lambda expressions), Collections framework, and Exception handling.

• Preferred: experience with Static Application Security Testing (OWASP, Coverity, SonarQube) and software security compliance.

• Preferred: deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, Java EE (Streams, Lambda expressions), Collections framework, and Exception handling.

• Preferred: self-motivated individual with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, along with experience in test-driven development.
