Senior Python Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Take charge of a vital Python platform and facilitate its growth.

• Create and uphold backend services and APIs utilizing Python and Flask.

• Gain an understanding of the functionality of an existing, intricate application and develop new features without disrupting current operations.

• Design and execute asynchronous processing and background job workflows using Celery and RabbitMQ.

• Work with MongoDB and manage data using Pandas and NumPy.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application-related issues.

• Ensure code quality through automated testing, pull requests, and code reviews.

• Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to provide comprehensive solutions.

• Utilize GitHub Copilot and other AI tools to enhance productivity.

• Address documentation deficiencies and contribute to technical best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional software development experience, primarily using Python.

• Strong understanding of Python, covering both foundational and advanced concepts.

• Practical experience in developing REST APIs with Flask.

• Familiarity with background jobs and asynchronous processing using Celery and a message broker like RabbitMQ.

• Practical experience with MongoDB, preferably with PyMongo.

• Skills in writing automated tests and safely modifying large, existing codebases.

• Proficiency in using Git and GitHub, including pull requests and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Residing in Portugal.

• Experience with Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation.

• Familiarity with GitHub Actions.

• Experience with AWS services.

• Knowledge of Node.js or Vue.js.

• Experience in financial services projects, including pensions or insurance.
