Staff Attorney – Contracts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and analyze statutes, judicial rulings, legal articles, contracts, and legal codes.

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts on behalf of the organization.

• Prepare legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence.

• Guide the development of new legal changes for Navitus and provide advice on legal matters.

• Offer legal advice to Navitus staff concerning business objectives, policies, and practices.

• Organize legal documents and correspondence within both digital and physical filing systems.

• Establish procedures for indexing, filing legal documents, and managing contracts.

• Assist other departments with contracts, business operations, and regulatory affairs issues.

• Support the Chief Legal Officer and Associate General Counsel with various legal matters.

• Conduct records research and prepare correspondence with limited supervision.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A law degree from an ABA-accredited program is preferred.

• A license to practice law is mandatory.

• Previous experience in a law firm or in-house legal department is required.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively and tactfully interact with internal and external parties on sensitive and complex matters.

• Proficiency in using a personal computer and advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

• Engage in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.

• Ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues.

• Must reside in one of the eligible remote work locations specified by Navitus.
