• Create cutting-edge instruments to gather data for mineral exploration initiatives
• Simulate, analyze, and calibrate sensor functionalities
• Design innovative data acquisition systems
• Collaborate with vendors and partners to construct hardware
• Implement hardware alongside operations personnel in the field
• Develop models utilizing sensor and other data to detect ore-forming processes and forecast ore-grade mineralization in both 2D and 3D
• Establish a global dataset while identifying and quantifying uncertainty in data and forecasts
• Construct models and create software to expedite the discovery of essential battery metals
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and geoscientists to integrate geological, chemical, and physical process insights
• Discover new opportunities and technologies for geophysical data collection
• Generate 2D and 3D geological predictions and pinpoint exploration targets
• Design field programs, gather data, reduce uncertainty, and direct future fieldwork
• Design, build, and implement mineral exploration data collection tools and methodologies
• Develop proprietary software tools for exploration
• Locate, curate, and combine geospectral, geophysical, geochemical, geological, and geographic data
• Create visual representations for model assessment and interaction with foundational data
• Employ data processing, statistical, physics-based, computer vision, and geophysical inversion methodologies
• Present findings and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders
• Implement spatially aware clustering, anomaly detection, and other robust analysis techniques
• Work together on algorithms that merge large and intricate datasets for mineral exploration
• Proven ability to swiftly absorb and synthesize intricate information, with a history of high intellectual rigor in a professional environment
• Exceptional curiosity and a strong desire to learn
• Successful experience developing complex equipment with interdisciplinary teams and vendors
• Extensive background in physical measurement and data analysis systems utilizing optics, electromagnetism, radiation, and gravity
• Experience in applying scientific knowledge to identify and prototype cutting-edge technologies
• Familiarity with systems integration and data acquisition
• Significant experience with Python’s data science libraries and overall software engineering principles
• Background in collaborative software development using git, unit/integration test suites, and CI/CD practices
• Proficient in SQL and knowledgeable about non-relational databases
• Experience with cloud computing resources
• Skilled in building, applying, evaluating, and interpreting predictive models
• Competence in data analysis, physics analysis, and applied statistics on data from physical systems
• Ability to apply machine learning to mineral exploration, comprehend geology and mineral exploration practices, and work with limited, diverse, and noisy data sources
• Experience in deploying sensors in field environments
• Capacity to take ownership of large-scale projects
• Capability to work directly with geologists in the field
• Competence in articulating technical challenges to domain experts who are not software developers
• Ability to independently prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada
