This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Directly engage with capital investors to present Upstart’s platform and develop customized capital solutions for the home equity program.
• Take ownership of the HELOC credit performance narrative, which includes arrears, roll rates, vintage and cohort loss curves, model calibration, and feature importance.
• Clarify portfolio performance and forward-risk implications to investors, partners, and internal leadership.
• Generate regular reporting on yield, default, and prepayment performance.
• Assist in modeling and directing deal strategies for capital partners.
• Create financial models, data pipelines, and automated credit monitoring and reporting systems.
• Leverage agentic AI tools such as Claude Code and Codex to streamline analytics pipelines and ongoing reporting.
• Collaborate with teams across Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and Finance on HELOC credit metrics, narratives, and forecasts.
• Mentor junior team members to enhance data, credit, and analytics proficiency.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in financial services, concentrating on credit and debt, with hands-on experience in loan portfolio performance and credit risk.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience in analyzing and articulating portfolio credit performance, including delinquency and arrears, roll rates, vintage loss curves, and model calibration.
• Expertise in handling large datasets and data modeling.
• Proven experience in building robust data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Redshift, DBT, and business intelligence tools.
• A degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Availability for East/West coast time zones.
• Must be able to live and work in the U.S. or Canada, excluding Quebec.
• Preferred qualifications include cross-functional collaboration, executive-level data storytelling, proficiency in Tableau/PowerBI/Looker, experience with HELOC/home equity/mortgage credit, financial modeling, deal analytics, and familiarity with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex, as well as model explainability and calibration.
