Staff AI Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Create and implement AI-driven features throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Empower engineering teams to design, deploy, and manage agentic AI applications on a large scale.

• Develop agent orchestration, backend services, APIs, and cloud-native solutions.

• Construct scalable, production-ready solutions utilizing Python, Java, LangGraph, and contemporary AI frameworks.

• Offer technical leadership via architecture and design evaluations.

• Guide and mentor engineers.

• Proactively identify and address risks prior to deployment.

• Troubleshoot complex issues in production environments.

• Create reusable platform capabilities that can be utilized across various engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of full-stack ownership and the delivery of scalable, production-ready applications.

• Proven experience in designing, building, and managing agentic AI applications in production, including those powered by LLMs and agent-based solutions.

• Practical experience with LangGraph and sophisticated agent orchestration techniques, including multi-step planning, sub-agent coordination, shared-state architectures, long-running workflows, human-in-the-loop processes, and debugging of production agent systems.

• Robust software engineering skills in Python, Java, and modern backend development.

• Experience in designing and constructing scalable APIs and cloud-native services.

• Background in developing AI-enhanced user experiences, such as Conversational AI, IVR systems, and generative UI applications.

• Proven technical leadership through architecture and design assessments, mentoring engineers, resolving intricate production issues, and building reusable platform capabilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• High School diploma along with 4 years of relevant work experience as an alternative educational route.

• Preferred: expertise in prompt engineering, LLM evaluation frameworks, AI observability, and LLM security best practices.

• Preferred: experience in LLM fine-tuning, model optimization, performance tuning, and evaluation methodologies.

• Preferred: capability to establish and implement best practices for AI governance, reliability, operational excellence, and production readiness.

• Preferred: experience in platform engineering, observability, and distributed systems.

• Preferred: experience in creating architectural designs, technical design documents, runbooks, and technical briefs.

• Preferred: experience working within Agile and SAFe methodologies in large-scale enterprise environments.
