Staff Accountant I, Balance Sheet Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Assist with the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts across various organizational entities.

• Aid in month-end closing processes for assigned sites, which includes managing close checklists, statistical entries and reconciliations, as well as conducting post-close reviews and analyses.

• Support the analysis of balance sheets and income statements for specified facilities and account ranges.

• Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and monthly operational forecasts.

• Investigate, clarify, and resolve discrepancies in balance sheet reconciliations.

• Facilitate quarterly reviews and annual audits by supplying necessary documentation and explanations.

• Collaborate with management from the HSC Office across various departments.

• Execute additional tasks that support the HSC Accounting department.

• Review and document journal entries in partnership with facility leadership and Site Liaison teams.

• Utilize Oracle OTBI and SmartView for on-demand financial analysis.

• Assist in initiatives aimed at improving processes and enhancing efficiency.

• Participate in training and professional development focused on accounting standards and healthcare regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 1–2 years of preferred experience; prior accounting experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Internships or relevant coursework may be taken into account.

• CPA designation is preferred.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
