Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and STAT standards.

• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and address any discrepancies that arise.

• Manage the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.

• Create supporting schedules for both internal and external STAT and GAAP audits and coordinate audit requests.

• Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.

• Assist with STAT regulatory reporting requirements.

• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance accounting procedures and boost efficiency.

• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide them with guidance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate business initiatives and meet financial reporting demands.

• Aid in special projects and perform other accounting tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidate must reside in UT, AZ, or TX.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.

• A minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience is necessary.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards is essential.

• Experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.

• Familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

• Capable of working independently and collaborating effectively in a fully remote or hybrid work setting.

• Must have a dedicated home workspace and a secure, reliable, high-speed internet connection.

• Experience with STAT reporting is preferred.

• Knowledge of NetSuite and Sage is a plus.

• CPA license is preferred.

• Experience in public accounting is also a plus.
