Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Execute daily accounting tasks to maintain client records and ensure they are complete.

• Input data into accounting software while ensuring the integrity of information and documentation.

• Review and process documentation submitted by clients, including invoices and bills.

• Actively reach out to clients for any additional information that may be needed.

• Engage with clients via email and video conferencing.

• Organize and prepare accounting records, financial statements, and reports for the Senior Accountant.

• Conduct regular processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable.

• Prepare sales tax returns for GST/HST/PST.

• Generate accurate financial reports for Senior Accountants and clients.

• Manage and nurture client relationships.

• Utilize cloud accounting software, including Xero, QBO, Dext, and Plooto.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping experience is required.

• Knowledge of cloud accounting software (such as Xero and/or QBO) is essential.

• Must successfully complete a criminal background check and/or verification of education and employment.

• Working from home is mandatory, including access to high-speed internet and availability during core business hours.

• Proficiency with Claude prompts to automate repetitive tasks and enhance research (preferred).

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

• Customer service-oriented with outstanding communication abilities.

• Flexibility and effective problem-solving skills.

• Excellent time management and multitasking capabilities.

• Ability to collaborate and take initiative within team settings.
