Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Record daily deposits and reconcile entries related to reinsurance activities.

• Maintain spreadsheets that track deposits, claims funds, and financial reports.

• Document, report, and align billings according to reinsurance agreements.

• Detect and resolve reconciliation discrepancies associated with reinsurance activities.

• Manage communications with clients, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders.

• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and finance departments.

• Assist in audits by preparing financial documentation and addressing audit inquiries.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives for reinsurance accounting operations.

• Provide backup support to the Accounting (senior) for payables and month-end processing as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.

• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within the insurance or reinsurance sector.

• Strong Excel proficiency and experience with accounting software are essential.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a deadline-oriented environment.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to foster and maintain relationships with clients, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, complemented by meticulous attention to detail.

• Ability to operate independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

• A self-starter with a professional and assertive approach to problem-solving.
