Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Execute monthly closing tasks, which include the preparation of journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations, and conducting monthly flux analysis.

• Efficiently process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for Portugal and other designated EMEA countries.

• Promptly respond to client inquiries and internal questions.

• Aid in the preparation of financial statements and the necessary documentation for audits.

• Manage external and internal inquiries through email and phone communication.

• Identify and calculate provisions and exceptions to standard bookings.

• Assist in the development and documentation of business processes, procedures, checklists, and policies.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned or required.

• Apply company policies and procedures to resolve various accounting challenges.

• Cultivate productive working relationships internally and externally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business with a focus on Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 3 to 5 years of combined experience in accounting and the general ledger close process.

• Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English is essential.

• Knowledge of additional languages is highly regarded.

• Solid understanding of local GAAP accounting and financial/operational principles; familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.

• Experience with Primavera or Odoo is highly desirable but not required.

• Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to collaborate effectively and maintain frequent communication with various internal departments.

• Capacity to adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business evolves.
