Accountant I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Ensure the general ledger accounts are complete and accurate.

• Reconcile designated accounts, including monthly, weekly, and/or daily reconciliations.

• Initiate and/or execute general ledger and journal entries.

• Create spreadsheets and input accounting data into the accounting system.

• Assist in the preparation and review of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.

• Generate reports for financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, trending, and results evaluation.

• Analyze financial data to pinpoint problem areas and report findings to management.

• Investigate variances and conduct quality reviews of overpayments.

• Support special projects, coordination among departments, resource allocation, solution development, and the formulation or implementation of job procedures and controls.

• Aid in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for external entities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 24 semester hours in accounting.

• Familiarity with essential accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and analytical skills.

• Capability to work independently.

• Proficiency in managing confidential or sensitive information with discretion.

• Experience with Microsoft Office.

• Ability to utilize data retrieval applications.

• Preferred experience with FISS, HIGLAS, and MCS.
